Landang garam


or salt extraction. Near the coast salt is 'made'. Farmers fill up fields with seawater. The water evaporates and a layer of salt is left behind. They continue until enough salt is left behind.
Our chauffeur said casual: "Look, salt fields" and me & Tommas were like: "WOW!" and: "Stop!". We stopped to make some pictures of this spectacular view. The feeling is dual. You see this spectacular view, but on the other hand people are working in the burning sun to make salt. And the profet is minimal. Tubagus told me that the government imports salt, many famers went bankrupt due to this and live in poverty.
